Welcome to Lovehavens Maltese, breeders of quality AKC Maltese Puppies who view adopting a Maltese Puppy much like adopting a newborn baby. We breed for quality, not quantity. If you are looking for a quality puppy that received a good start in life then you have come to the right place. At Lovehavens we strive to treat all of our adoptive parents with love and respect. We have found that a dogs personality often reflects that of their breeder. While there are always exceptions, children often model their parents behavior unless they realize it is wrong and make an intellectual decision to avoid such behavior. Pets are even more prone to model negative behavior. Therefore we give all Lovehavens Maltese Puppies a healthy and loving environment that allows them to grow into loving lifelong companions that are a blessing to their adoptive parents. We believe that these tiny angels are deserving of the very best homes and adoptive parents. Therefore we look for the best match possible for each of our babies. Lovehavens Maltese believes that adopting a Maltese puppy is much like adopting a human infant. They will steal your heart and never give it back. Well bred Maltese have very unique personalities that make them as fun to watch as a toddler trying new things and learning as they grow. Our babies all begin their lives in our bedroom. I assist my girls as they bring these adorable angels into the world. They live in our bedroom in a baby play pen until they are about four weeks of age and then move to the livingroom were they are held several times throughout the day to begin their socialization. We view socialization as becoming familiar and comfortable with both other dogs and humans. All pups have socialization of being with a litter but unless they are held throughout the day, played with gently, and cared for in a loving, nurturing and attentive manner then they cannot be considered socialized in our opinions.

I have bred quality AKC dogs for over 25 years. We have bred Maltese for almost a decade. Our first Maltese "Lovehavens Heavenly Angel" stole our hearts and never gave it back, as did all those who followed her. Heavenly was retired early in life and went to live with our good friends and her forever parents Bob and Mary of Oregon. She saved them from a housefire and when she died of a virus it broke all of our hearts. She was their hero, and now she is truely a Heavenly Angel that left us with many wonderful memories. This website is dedicated to her. Although we encourage you to blog about any related topic, perhaps stories of incredible Maltese like "Lovehavens Heavenly Angel" would be a great place to start.
